I am a marine geophysicist. My research has focused on geophysical imaging techniques, instrumentation and development of new methodologies for assessing gas hydrate deposits. Primarily I have developed the seafloor compliance method for assessing gas hydrates and collaborated on the application and development of marine controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) methods. I am a field scientist who deploys these, and other geophysical imaging experiments at sea, and I have adapted the compliance method to long-term deployments with networks of sensors in seafloor cabled observatories to image temporal changes in elastic parameters and image 3D structure, as well as a fully fibre-optically linked multi-receiver CSEM array that will allow great depth resolution of resistivities in real time and the application of time-domain electromagnetic methods for various targets on seafloor cabled observatories.

Other research interests include sub-permafrost gas hydrates, gravity methods, infragravity noise, seismicity and subduction zones.
