I finished Bachelor in Plant protection. While studying, all my free time I was spending in phytopatological lab. During my stay in the lab, I was working on couple of small projects with different microorganisms like phytopatological bacteria and fungi. I understood and learned microbial physiology and problems that they cause. Following, I finished Master studies in sweet cherry fruit physiology after harvest. There I worked on discovering mechanisms of chilling injury on storage fruits.
Now days main area of my interest are the Stink bugs and how to protect crops against them as well as how to prevent them get inside the households. During studies and later in practice I learned that a lot of pesticides are wasted or used without control. That leads to environment pollution and poisoning which I am strongly against. Instead we should use biological agents and or organisms that are not harmful for cultivated plants and their consumers. If we could prolong fruit freshness without pesticides people could eat fresh and healthy food. My idea is to combine what I learned until now and to help farmers to improve their products, expend storage time and shelf life time without losing appearance, texture, aroma and taste of fruits, by using biological substances without withdrawal period.
