Orison Woolcott

I earned my degree as M├ędico-Cirujano (equivalent to the M.D. in the USA) from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru. I was a visiting research scholar at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. I completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Southern California. My research is focused on three aspects: 1) environmental factors (mainly altitude/hypoxia) that regulate glucose metabolism; 2) predictors of body adiposity and cardiometabolic diseases; 3) the study of the mechanisms that may be involved in the development of type 2 diabetes.
