I am currently researching the history, development, and implementation of Lovecraftian Futurist Music composition and performance, in which the aesthetics and composition methods put forth by Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo are employed to evoke the characters, settings, narratives, and emotions found within Lovecraftian Horror Mythos Fiction. I am drawing from my previous work that focuses on the ways in which musical instruments and their construction interact dialectically with the culture, society, and historical events associated with the musical communities in which they are played and built to inform a synergetic research project that will yield both academic literary output and creative performative works. This Lovecraftian Futurist Music project involves, in part, Gothic Literature Studies, Gender Studies, Cognitive Science, Identity and Nostalgia Politics, and Experimental Music Composition and Performance.
