My main research interests these days are centred around how we can better align research processes, infrastructures, policies and related matters with societal issues like climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequities.
I am particularly interested in the role that transparency and openness can play in research contexts.
I am approaching this from two ends - opening up the research cycle as well as integrating research aspects into open communities like the Wikimedia platforms. Some of my key projects in this space are the journal Research Ideas and Outcomes that handles manuscripts from all along the research cycle and the open-source tool Scholia that visualizes open data from Wikidata about the research ecosystem.
