Mental Illness represent a growing concern in today’s society. A better understanding of the mechanisms involved in the manifestation of mental illness would invaluable in providing renewed clarity. The field is current moving at a rapid pace and the body of knowledge inherently has become interdisciplinary. Thus, the emphasis of my work with the institute centers upon Major Depressive Disorder and the inflammatory model of depression.
The research will take several paths but will attempt to link the emerging breakthroughs across the fields together to being early facilitation of a dialogue in anticipation for what will be an evolved state of interdisciplinary fields.
The research will be of value to the experimental researchers and the field clinicians as the research will be analyzed and presented in an accessible manner.
