Maryam is a public health nutrition professional with extensive fieldwork, teaching, and writing experiences in food literacy, nutrition education, and health promotion for faith communities. Her skillset includes community-based participatory research, conducting literature reviews, grant writing, public speaking, mentoring, research writing, and qualitative research methods.

Her passion for inter-cultural exchange, global public health, and traveling, has led her to begin a new life in Kumasi, Ghana (from Texas, United States), where she is working on implementing health and hygiene education in her new community, through ethnography and the PEN-3 Model.
