Dr. Rami Saydjari, MD, FACS, MBA, is a general surgeon certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also obtained a healthcare physician executive MBA and has worked extensively as a general surgeon and a healthcare administrator in various roles. Although now retired from clinical practice, he remains active in medical, political, and social justice arenas online. He is currently working on a book of essays relating to his family history. In addition, Dr. Saydjari is co-authoring a book with his brother, O. Sami Saydjari, with the working title Running the Medical Maze, which is in the final phases of editing before publication.

Dr. Saydjari completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at  Rice University in Houston, Texas. After graduation from Rice, Rami and Christy moved to Galveston, Texas, where he attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and obtained a medical degree. While completing medical school, Rami developed a keen interest in biomedical research involving cancer suppression. He continued that interest in his general surgery residency at UTMB, which he completed in 1992.
