My research interests are evolutionary economics and organizational evolution. I am particularly interested in understanding economic behavior and organizational strategy foundations based on generalized Darwinism.
My PhD research was on the understanding of how knowledge is transferred for and through the replication of routines in franchise systems. It was also framed in a generalized Darwinism theory, along with cognitive psychology. I had the pleasure of researching under the supervision of Geoffrey Hodgson and Denise Dollimore, two leading scholars in this area.
I have just developed mesa_gd (http://github.com/elmocgomes/mesa_gd), an agent-based modeling framework to improve the understanding of economic behavior. A simple demonstration simulation can be found at https://mesa-gd-hunter.herokuapp.com/.
